As a pioneer in the paint booth, Vivian Spires is one of the many women in collision repair who are making a difference on the shop floor. Vivian works as head painter at Ryan Chevrolet in Monroe, Louisiana, where she has been employed for the past thirty-one years.

Vivian discovered her passion for fixing cars in the early seventies by lending her husband, James, a helping hand in the body shop. Impressed with her attention to detail - and her tenacity - the manager hired her in 1972. She started in "squeaks and rattles," learned about estimating and metal work, and soon discovered that painting was her true love. Vivian began working full time as a painter in 1982.

Over the years Vivian has become the most respected painter in Northern Louisiana. Certified by Chevrolet, Sikkens and ASE Vivian was Nationally recognized in 2006 by receiving the prestigious AKSO Nobel.
